Shipping policy

Last updated: August 21, 2026

Because our steel carports are large, freight-class items, they're shipped differently than typical small parcel orders. This page explains how delivery works, what to expect, and how to prepare for your shipment.

How We Ship

We primarily ship using Freightcom, a Canadian freight carrier network, to deliver carports safely and efficiently across the country. Depending on your order and location, you can choose from the following delivery options at checkout:

  • Residential delivery with tailgate — the truck is equipped with a tailgate lift to lower your order to ground level. No forklift or loading dock required.
  • Residential delivery without tailgate — a lower-cost option where you'll need a forklift or equivalent equipment on-site to unload the shipment.
  • Business delivery with tailgate — for commercial addresses with tailgate lift service included.
  • Business delivery without tailgate — for commercial addresses with a loading dock or forklift available on-site.

Choose the option that matches what you have available at your delivery location — this affects both pricing and how smoothly delivery goes, so pick carefully at checkout.

We also offer warehouse pickup and freight depot collection for customers who prefer to arrange their own transport or reduce shipping costs.

Delivery Timelines

Current delivery times are approximately 4–5 weeks from order confirmation, as we build out our Canadian stock and distribution. We expect this to improve to under 2 weeks in the coming months as inventory levels increase — we'll update this page as that happens.

Delivery timelines are estimates only and can vary based on your location, the delivery option selected, weather, and carrier scheduling. We are not liable for delays caused by the carrier, road or weather conditions, or other circumstances outside our control.

Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are calculated based on your delivery address, the weight and size of your carport, and the delivery option you select. Because of this, remote and rural areas may carry an additional freight surcharge — this will be shown clearly at checkout before you complete your order.

Preparing for Delivery

To make sure delivery goes smoothly:

  • Confirm your delivery address and contact details are accurate at checkout
  • Make sure your chosen delivery option matches the equipment available on-site (forklift, loading dock, etc.)
  • Ensure someone is available to receive and inspect the shipment, as freight deliveries typically require someone on-site
  • Have adequate space cleared for the delivery truck to access your property

Inspecting Your Delivery

Please inspect your order carefully at the time of delivery, before the carrier leaves. If you notice visible damage to the packaging, shrink wrap, or product, you must explicitly write "Damaged" on the driver's delivery receipt (Bill of Lading) before signing.

Once signed for, and contact us right away at info@carportsfactoryoutlet.ca with photos, so we can resolve the issue quickly. Damage claims are much easier to process when noted at the time of delivery.

Shipping to the United States

We currently ship within Canada only. We do not offer shipping or freight delivery to U.S. addresses.

If you're located in the United States, you're welcome to place an order and arrange your own pickup from our Rocky View County, Alberta location. You (or your carrier) will be responsible for collecting and transporting the item, including any cross-border customs requirements. Please contact us before ordering if you plan to pick up from the U.S. so we can coordinate timing.
